Things that should change to help enforce environmental protection would be adding and changing laws. New ones should be put in place that would punish those that harm the environment for economical gain. Also previous acts should be rewritten in order to help the environment. Such acts include: the Endangered Species Act (ESA) and the Clean Air Act (CAA). These should be rewritten to where, if violated, one will serve a term of at least ten years.
Another change would be to put into use alternative forms of energy. By this, funding should be provided to quickly ensure that alternative forms of energy with little-to-non greenhouse gas emissions can be used. Some forms include solar power and energy produced from water. Cars and buildings should be replaced with newer models that work on solar or water produced energy. This would reduce the levels of greenhouse gasses released every year.
